I read an article in the latest issue of Harper's, "Taking of Jerusalem by the crusaders", that paints the United States military as an institution full of Evangelical Fundamentalist Christians who are occasionally finding themselves having to uphold their oath to the constitution and their god at the same time. It's unsettling. It makes you want to write your congressional representative to tell them to stop allowing prayer meetings in the Pentagon. Wait. There are prayer meetings in the Pentagon?
Alas, the article is behind a paid subscription - but I can PDF it to you if you ask kindly.

The guys at You Look Nice Today have a new episode. Worth it.
Also, I went to the Fischer Spooner show on Sunday night, so thought I'd pop them on ye olde bloge. This is from drop.io
I missed the Animal Collective show last night, which I can only assume was great. I was about to send the album to a friend when I found that someone else had already uploaded it to drop.io (last four tracks here). Drop.io doesn't have a search - but if the name you thought of for your drop was taken, it's often times because someone already did what you were going to do.

No. I haven't seen the new Star Trek movie yet. Yes. I have watched the Onion make fun of it:

I do also love that this keyboard cat is playing everyone out. I wonder how many people have had this on a monitor at their funeral so far. No one? Really?
